Chakin

JTKI
Chakin (linen cloth) to dry the tea cup during the tea ceremony.

The small white chakin can be made from various natural fibers. Most are made of cotton, but some are made of flax or hemp. After warming or rinsing the tea bowl, the chakin is used to dry it before adding the matcha powder. The chakin therefore serves as a small drying cloth.
