Tan Bei Tie Guan Yin

Tanbei Guanyin is a traditionally produced Tieguanyin of good quality, having been oxidized at room temperature, roasted over charcoal. Rounder, with more body and more aromatic than the Anxi Tie Guan Yin that have not been roasted, its fruitiness is pleasantly embedded and becomes beautifully apparent.

The varietal Tie Guan Yin is named after Guanyin (in India: Avalokiteshvara), hence in the west this tea is sometimes also called "Iron Buddha of compassion", as the name would translate.
