Yiwushan 2004 Shunshixing

A truly excellent classic. A Gu Shu Pu Er from the Yiwushan tea mountains, blended from various forests and aged on-site by the producer family under optimal conditions. It was originally produced by Zhang Yi, one of the founding fathers of modern Sheng Pu Er, under the brand name Shun Shi Xing. He passed away soon after prpducing this tea, and his son, Zhang Shaohua, continued production of newer vintages. Zhang Yi, along with Taiwanese tea experts searching for the origins of Pu Er, was the first to produce Gu Shu Sheng Pu Er in modern times in 1995. Modern raw Pu Er was born, but remained a niche product until its first boom in 2007.

A legendary and extremely rare tea, and our benchmark for truly excellent quality aged Gu Shu Pu Er. Every other tea will be measured against it.
