Mengku 2012

Very nice Gu Shu Pu Er from Mengku. From the Dahusai tea forest on the western side of Mengku (Xibanshan). This tea has been stocked in Shanghai in China until 2024.

Mengku is a tea producing region that lies relatively high up in the north, and one finds many tea villages with old tea trees. It is not as sought after as other regions, but much appreciated by connoisseurs. At the end of the 20th century various wild tea forests have been re-discovered, where trees of a variety grow that is not identical to the varieties of other old trees of the region. The tea region is separated in the western part of the mountain (Xibanshan), to the west of the river Mengku, with the villages Bingdao and Daxueshan, and the eastern side of the river Mengku, where Zhengqitng and Gonglong are situated.
