Processing, preparation and sensory basics
The introductory course focuses on the questions of what tea is and how we can approach this complex beverage. The introduction provides an overview of the different teas and cultures, conveys a language for understanding and describing tea and shows different ways of preparing and tasting tea.
The course is divided into 8 modules and takes place on a regular basis. We offer the introductory course in different formats. The current course dates can be found in the PDF.
Introductory course in French: We offer the introductory course on two weekends in condensed form in French: Saturday 30/31 August 2025 and Sunday 06/07 September 2025
Introductory course English: We offer the introductory course on two weekends in condensed form in English: Saturday 26.04/03.05.2025 and Sunday 27.04/04.05.2025

MODULES I – IV
Tea overview
In four modules, we will cover a broad spectrum and create an overview: We accompany the leaf from the tree to the cup, explore the different ways of processing the tea plant, learn the basics of preparation and practise sensory perception.
MODULES V – VIII
For in-depth tasting
Tea can be prepared, tasted and explored in different ways. Modules V - VIII are dedicated to the interplay of tea, its specific preparation and the sensory experience. We delve into different ways of drinking tea and explore the variety of flavours of the tea plant. We discover everyday teas as well as exquisite delicacies.
