Tea Room

Enjoy and discover our extensive range of teas in the special atmosphere of our tea room

The old, creaking spiral staircase at Länggassstrasse 47 leads you to our tea room. Here we would like to offer a little oasis, a place to linger and be.

Our offer is varied: treat yourself to a pot of your favourite tea; get to know different tea cultures and preparation methods; devote your attention to a selected rarity in Gong Fu Cha or Sencha-Do or immerse yourself in different tea categories during a tasting. We will be happy to advise you on your choice.

Our menu also includes delicacies to eat: In addition to our own homemade pastries, sweet and salty, we offer our version of a classic high tea. We also offer Wagashi-Do, a composition of Japanese sweets and Japanese teas. On Saturday mornings we spoil you with a Japanese breakfast.

Tea room opening hours

As our premises are small and our focus is on sensory experiences - smelling and tasting tea - dogs are not permitted.

Gong Fu Cha

Gong Fu Cha – drinking tea with full attention - is the Chinese way of drinking tea. It is particularly suitable for artisanal rarities of exceptional quality. The many facets of these teas unfold over several infusions and can thus be explored. Here you drink a tea of your choice and are introduced to the preparation method, after which you continue on your own. This is the usual way in Chinese tea houses, where you drink tea whilst enjoying the atmosphere in a lively restaurant.

Sencha-Do

Green tea has a long history in Japan. Each infusion offers an intense and complex flavour experience. Artisanal rarities of exceptional quality are served in the tea room in a condensed form. Over several infusions, the tea reveals its different sides. We will be happy to advise you on the selection and introduce you to the preparation method before you prepare further infusions yourself.
