Tea is an important cultural asset in Asia. A tea journey allows for a deep awareness of the country's history and present. We take you to tea-growing regions with extraordinary landscapes and introduce you to the people who dedicate their lives to the cultivation and production of tea. Through a guided tour, you will experience a personal connection to the places and people whose craftsmanship you will find in your bowl of tea at home.

Tea journey Taiwan - Oolong

Over the centuries, an independent Chinese-influenced tea culture has developed on the island of Taiwan. The proximity to the sea and the massive central mountain range characterize the terroir. Taiwan thus offers a variety of tea regions in a very small area. The journey takes you via the lively capital Taipei and nearby tea gardens to the mountains of Alishan, where you can discover not only highly flavoured High Mountain Oolong but also a fascinating natural landscape. The journey continues to Nantou in the centre of the island, the core region of the tea trade and gateway to the classic tea-growing regions such as Dong Ding.

Tea journeys - China

China, the land of tea. The discovery of tea dates back almost five thousand years. The use of the first tea plants was first documented in Yunnan (southern China). To this day, tea is cultivated and celebrated in many different regions of China. The family Lange also found their way to China through their passion for tea. Gerhard, Kaspar and Lukas Lange have been travelling in pursuit of tea for more than ten years. On the one hand to find the best teas, on the other hand to continue their education or - quite simply - for the sake of travelling, because China offers wonderful, diverse landscapes and a very welcoming culture of hospitality.

Lukas Lange will take you on a ten to fourteen-day tour of China's classic tea-growing regions. The tours take place in spring (April / May), at harvest time. Tasting tea directly at its source is a special experience for every tea lover.

Tea trips – Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and other tea destinations

Japan has the oldest tea tradition after China. It is produced according to the old model - exclusively green tea - but using high-tech methods. The tea is also harvested in spring (May). The tea tour takes you to various tea regions, where you can see and taste the subtle differences. The same journey continues to South Korea, where green tea is also processed according to its own tradition.

Taiwan mainly produces oolong, such as the famous High Mountain Oolong or Oriental Beauties. But where do these delicacies come from? Lukas Lange will be happy to take you on a tour of Taiwan's growing regions. You will learn how, in addition to the artistic hand of the tea master, the growing conditions also have a decisive influence on the character of a tea.
